The head office building and Hokkaido Cool Logistics Place (temperature-controlled refrigerator/freezer) are facilities that can function as bases for disaster prevention in the event of a disaster. The features of the facilities are (1) equipment for BCP such as emergency power generators, water tanks, satellite phones, and evacuation spaces, (2) building strength that can withstand complex disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis, (3) excellent thermal insulation, and (4) environmentally-friendly energy-saving equipment. Both facilities have a “disaster prevention center function” that allows them to play the role of a disaster prevention bases for the region.

We have signed with Tomakomai City an “Agreement on Use as a Temporary Tsunami Evacuation Facility.
” This agreement permits locals and port employees to use our head office building and the Hokkaido Cool Logistics Place as a temporary evacuation facility in the event of a tsunami.

The signing of an “Agreement on Mutual Cooperation in the Event of a Large-Scale Disaster”

The Tomakomai Coast Guard Station, Tomakomai Port Authority, and our company have signed an “Agreement on Mutual Cooperation in the Event of a Large-Scale Disaster.”
This three-party agreement aims to use our head office building to implement coast guard operations and disaster emergency measures quickly and smoothly if it becomes difficult for the Coast Guard Office to maintain its function in an unavoidable situation such as when a large-scale disaster occurs or is likely to occur.
