To become a company from Tomakomai with Global Aim,
and the Leader of a New Logistics Strategy.

Logistics hub in the north that supports industries and livelihoods in Hokkaido

The Port of Tomakomai consists of the West Port, the world’s first inland dug port which opened in 1963, and the East Port, which opened in 1980. In 1981, it was designated a “Central International Port” as an international hub of a maritime transport network. At present, it has grown to be the largest port in northern Japan, handling more than half of the port cargo in Hokkaido and ranking 1st in the country in terms of volume of domestic trade cargo handled and 4th in terms of volume of port-handled cargo. The Port of Tomakomai’s ideals for the future is presented in its long-term visions namely, “Hokkaido Smart Port: A port leading the optimization of domestic logistics,” “Hokkaido Food Port: A port that delivers Hokkaido’s “food” to the rest of the world,” and “Hokkaido Resilience Port: A port that strongly and flexibly protects the lives and livelihoods of citizens of Hokkaido and Japan.” To realize these long-term visions, the public and private sectors unite to develop the Port of Tomakomai through policies that contribute to various fields, such as the “promotion of logistics resilience in Hokkaido” and the “construction of regional hub facilities for the Northern Sea Route.”

Challenge as a glocal logistics company

Our company was established in 1960 as a warehousing and port transportation business to meet the freight transportation demands of the Port of Tomakomai after its opening. The warehousing enterprise started operations in 1963, along with the opening of the Port of Tomakomai, and now operates about 30 warehouses inside and outside the city. A grain silo enterprise was also started in 1970, storing and processing feed ingredients in 302-grain silos and 8 feed-exclusive warehouses. We completed a tank for storing petroleum products such as kerosene in 1974, currently multiplied to 55 in Tomakomai, and 25 in Ishikari City. In addition to Tomakomai, we have established bases in and outside Hokkaido to form a logistics network and contribute to the industrial development of Hokkaido.
In May 2020, the “Hokkaido Cool Logistics Place (temperature-controlled refrigerator/freezer)” started operations in the Tomakomai East Port. With this facility as the core facility, we are working to form a food industry base (food port) that unifies food and logistics, and contribute to adding value to the food industry and expanding the export of Hokkaido products.
As a glocal logistics company that challenges global enterprise, we will continue to contribute to a “global Hokkaido” and the “long-term development of the Port of Tomakomai,” and to the “creation of businesses that open the path to the future of the region.”

Provide Optimal Logistics Services to Everyone with Comprehensive Logistics Facilities

The Port of Tomakomai is the largest international trading port in northern Japan. Utilizing the potential of the Port of Tomakomai and its excellent “advantage in location,” the highest grade “equipment” in Hokkaido, and our “strength in expertise” that employs a wealth of both experience and knowledge, we have developed enterprises that support Hokkaido’s industries and livelihoods, such as warehousing, cold storage, grain silos, and oil terminal businesses boasting. Our comprehensive logistics facilities, together with the location of the Port of Tomakomai, allows us to provide optimal logistics services to everyone.

A Network that Connects to the World
